This paper sets out to determine how the social media and folksonomy aspects of the music recommendation site Last.fm works for the users. Through different theories and examinations, I will both analyse the folksonomy of Last.fm and find out what its users use it for, and how they use it. With both qualitative and quantitative studies I want to find out the motivations behind adding to the folksonomy of Last.fm, and whether it’s easy to use or not. I will use different theories to analyse the website and its users, and determine whether it might be overwhelming the users with information.
