Since its release in 1945 Pippi Longstocking has been popular with children, but also among critics and scholars. The book is remediated a huge number of times, including TV series, animation and application. Because of the media development it is common that books are remediated in line with the arrival of new media.

This BSc dissertation will examine why the book Boken om Pippi Långstrump (1952) has been remediated to TV series and an IOS application, and furthermore examine the extent to which Pippis play and language have been transferred in the remediation.
The examination will be based on document analysis including theories of adaptation and remediation.

By using these theories it is concluded that the remediations to both Tv-series and application have been remediated as an improvement to the old media. They have furthermore been adapted to the new media in different ways, which have affected the outcome of the remediations.
